Tracking the Book Tag Meme
**UPDATE** Initially I had come to a conclusion, but google’s cache is keepin me going. Read on
Fellow Red Ensign Brigadier, Jay Jardine has been wondering where the Book Tag Meme began, because now, the Governor General herself has been tagged. How’d that happen?
I’ll try to find a path backwards in time, but it is difficult because some people were tagged via email, others have taken their posts down, etc. It will likely be an uneventful journey, but a journey nonetheless. I’m gonna blog this f*cker out to the bitter end, to borrow a phrase from the late Mitch Hedberg.
The path:
Idealistic Pragmatist . I can’t find her post because she took it down. After an email, I’m back on track.
Out of Step AND Cracker Central
So we have a crossroads. Two threads have merged due to two people tagging the same person.
Cracker Central Thread:
Oh, so the threads realign. Cool.
This is where the ‘pedigree’ starts to die out. Sarcastic Kitty was tagged by “A Mere Girl”, but there is no link provided. After rooting around Sarcastic Kitty’s links list, we are again back on track.
And then it dies with a deleted blog.
Mysterious. It seems to have come over from the UK, entered into the sex-blogosphere and then was picked up by Catholic bloggers. From there it went to Libertarians, then lefties, and now the GG.
But, deleted no more. Thank you, google.
I’ve contacted him to see if he was tagged, or if he came up with the idea. This is what he said:
Thank you for stopping by my blog. To answer your question, which I had to research by rereading my post, no, I am not the originator. I found it on Digger’s Sister’s blog. I believe she was tagged for the meme by her brother, whose blog is titled Slack-o-rama. From there, I’m unsure where the path goes.
In amongst the live journalers we go….
Ok, from Slack-o-rama. . .
And I reached a dead end here.
