Edmonton breaks another record

I thought this was really interesting. It looks like a lady has stabbed her ‘old man’.

Police were tight-lipped about a suspicious death in a downtown apartment yesterday morning, but witnesses say the victim was stabbed to death.

If that’s the case, the death would mark Edmonton’s 32nd homicide of this record-breaking, murderous year.

Police responded to a call of a stabbing at Windsor Manor at 11143 124 St. around 6 a.m. yesterday to find a man in his 40s dead in a third-floor suite of the three-storey walk-up.

One police source said the death could be the result of a domestic dispute and that the victim had “clearly been stabbed.”

As of yesterday, no charges had been laid.

Homicide detectives and forensic specialists spent the day at the apartment yesterday, but Staff Sgt. Gerry Gunn didn’t share any other information about the death.

Neighbours said they heard a commotion on Saturday night and a man and woman arguing before police arrived.

It gets more interesting when you look at the gender distribution of the crimes. Most of the crimes are male-on-male, done by young guys.

But what I think is counterintuitive is that even though it’s most likely that the 6 female victims were murdered by males, most of the people murdering and being murdered are males.

It’s man-on-man violence at work here in E-Town.
