Notes on Pabst Blue Ribbon

A coupla years back, when I was down in the United States of ‘Murikuh, I was introduced to one of the best beers (for the money) I have ever slurped - Pabst Blue Ribbon.

The Canadian version is brewed in Saskatoon, and at $6.49, the economist in me says I can’t afford not to drink it.

However, most people have a bit of an aversion to this brew. It’s a tiny bit sweet or something.

The best way to get this beer (or any beer, for that matter) into its optimal state of drinkability, I find, is to place it in the freezer for about 1.5-2 hours, until ice crystals begin to form.

Too long, however, and your cans will either explode when you open them, or they’ll form so much ice that they’ll foam all over the place.

Mmmmm. Pabst Slurpees (TM) rule.

Nice!
