I’ve been rich.
And wifey at the time thuught I was the coolest, most sophisticated thing around. She kind of encouraged my illusion of being the great writer.
I was surely short on talent, but the atmoshpere of money seemed to make all the difference. Seems to me “broke but brilliant” doesn’t cut it anymore.
Especially now that I am broke and dumb as a bag of Chinese hammers.
