I found a fascinating interview with John Williams, the economist behind ShadowStats.com, which tracks changes in government methodologies for tracking things like the CPI, GDP and employment.
John has some tremendous insights into the numbers, and he examines them as an economic historian. I’ve always valued the perspectives offered by economic historians such as Michael Hudson, because they provide the context necessary for understanding the mess we’re in.
