McCain’s Freudian Slip: My Fellow Prisoners
In Bethlehem, PA, John McCain had a Freudian slip. America may end up electing a leader who sees himself as a subconsious prisoner, and hence, his fellow Americans as POWs.
I’m not going to let this slip slide into the memory hole.
“You and I together will confront the $10 trillion debt the federal government has run up and balance the federal budget by the end of my term in office. Across this country, this is the agenda I have set before my fellow prisoners and the same standards of clarity and candor must now be applied to my opponent.”
Parapraxes: Accidents and Necessary Mistakes
Charles Brenner, M.D. believes that parapraxes have profound implications. Although we may dismiss accidents and mistakes as mere flukes brought on by stress, distraction, sleep deprivation or malnutrition, Brenner says “in the mind, as in physical nature around us, nothing happens by chance, or in a random way” (Elementary Textbook of Psychoanalysis, New York: Anchor Books, 1957, p.2).
