About
My name is Aaron, and I wear many hats. I’ve fly fished most of Alberta, surveyed many oil refineries throughout the province, and these days I pass my time working as an Economist in Calgary. I might be the only trained surveyor and economist Alberta has.
For my readers at CSIS - I have several known associates. They are: Kenneth Sheppard, Mark Anielski, Don Hill and Ivan Prokopchuk. Doubting Thomas drops by from time to time as well.
This blog has no central message or theme. The name ‘Grandinite” stems from my old neighbourhood of Grandin, located next to the Legislature in Edmonton. But what I’m trying to do here is to use technology to share information. If you find something you didn’t know of before, then I’ve accomplished my mission. There’s a lot to see, so click around and hopefully you’ll find something worth your attention.
I have an M.A. degree in Economics from the University of Alberta, and have written for Moody’s Economy.com on the economies of Calgary and Edmonton. My graduate work focused on the socioeconomic differences of bloggers and blog readers. I also run AlbertaBlogs.com, a blogroll for Alberta’s best bloggers.
